The Original LEGO Bricks: Kiddicraft

Now, do we all know the original LEGO bricks? The answer is most likely NO, so I thought that for my first post on my new blog would be about the original LEGO bricks: Kiddicraft!

1932: The company is founded by Hilary Fisher Page in Great Britain, and he starts making wooden toys for his company.

1940: The company's original patent is made for the "Kiddicraft Self-Locking Building Brick", with the bricks being hollow inside and with 4 round studs on top, the bricks were almost like modern LEGO bricks (remember: The LEGO bricks weren't made yet, or even a idea.)

1945: The original patent is revised to have the ability for doors & windows to be used, and to have different sizes.

And there you go! That's what the LEGO bricks were based from, at least for awhile, the LEGO bricks were actually clones! (So I guess we can buy Mega Bloks now, right? Nope.) But when LEGO when to court with Tyco (like Mega Bloks) around the early 80s, LEGO bought Kiddicraft to stop any questions about the LEGO Group copying Kiddicraft's bricks.
